About the Speaker

Marilyn A. Nippold is a professor of Communication Disorders and Sciences at the University of Oregon where she teaches and conducts research in later language development, language disorders, and stuttering.

A Fellow of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), she has published 8 books and over 125 journal articles and book chapters. In 2015, she received Honors of the Association, ASHA's highest award, for "distinguished and exceptional contributions to the discipline of communication sciences and disorders." Professor Nippold is a former public school Speech-Language Pathologist and served as Editor of Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools for over five years (2010-2015).
